FED: Growing republican support for second question at poll

CANBERRA, Feb 7 AAP - Republicans have softened their stand against a second question at
this year's referendum, in the face of growing support for a new preamble to the Constitution
to recognise Aboriginal occupancy of Australia.

A two-day national conference of republicans has heard from a growing number of republicans
who want the referendum to advance the cause of Aboriginal reconciliation by including a
question on the preamble.
