Vic: Men in court for feeding cannabis cookies to Mormons

A Melbourne court has heard two unsuspecting Mormon missionaries munched their way
through 12 cannabis cookies during a home visit to some men and ended up in hospital.

One of the 19-year-old missionaries thought he was suffering from the effect of a gas
leak when he started shaking uncontrollably, could not hear or see properly and blacked
out.

Dandenong Magistrates Court has heard that both missionaries were taken to hospital.

DOUGLAS LYNCH, aged 40, and 46-year-old ALEXANDER MCLEAN are accused of offering the
Mormons the cookies at a house at Mount Waverley on May 19 this year.

Both accused have pleading not guilty to charges including recklessly causing injury
and drug offences.

However, LYNCH is pleading guilty to cultivating narcotic plants, and possessing and
using cannabis.

The hearing is continuing.
