WA: Gay law reform a step closer after marathon sitting - 2

The Australian Family Association said today it would not comply with the Advertising
Standards Board ruling, which it said gave a "distorted view of the advertisement".

"We are profoundly disturbed by the board's agreement with the complainants that plain
speaking and factual statements opposing changes in the law on homosexual behaviour are
to be considered as vilification and censored," the association said in a statement given
to the board.

"This decision demonstrates how planned anti-vilification legislation with punitive
fines is likely to be used in Western Australia to silence all opponents of the homosexual
agenda."
