Qld: Pilot stable after fatal PNG plane crash

An Australian pilot remains in a stable condition after his plane crashed in Papua
New Guinea .. killing six people.

Kiunga Aviation owner RICHARD LEAHY survived Wednesday's crash in mountainous terrain
in Morobe Province on Papua New Guinea's northwest coast .. but suffered third-degree
burns and a fractured spine.

The 68-year-old was operated on in Royal Brisbane Hospital on Thursday and remains
in a stable condition.
